THE AUTHOR

Terry Rippl is a retired engineer who spent 34 years working for the Department of Defense, supporting the maintenance and operation of submarines and surface ships. His work ethic and dedication were rewarded when he was selected to the Defense Sopply Center Hall of Fame. When not supporting Uncle Sam, he enjoys playing guitar and writing. He has had some of his poetry published in England (“The Strand Book of Modern Verse,” 1973 by Florwain Publishers) and in the United States (“New Voices in the Wind,” Young Publications 1969), and on one occasion had his poetry performed on local radio (Best Broadcast Poetry, Volume 2 David Ross 1970). He also published a book of poetry (“Beyond the Obvious,” Dog Ear Publishing, 2015). He has been a substitute teacher for the public school system since his retirement in 2004. It is a labor of love.

He has been a substitute teacher for grades K, 1st, and second grades for the past 15 years.
